Norfolk - John Sam Lee, 84, of 2524 Ludlow St., died Saturday in Hampton 
Veteran’s Hospital.

A native of Lunenburg County, he was the husband of Mrs. Bonnie M. Lee. He was 
retired from Norfolk & Western Railway after 49 years. He was a member of 
Greater Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, and 
Lindenwood Civic League.

Besides his widow, other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn L. Monroe of 
New York, a son, Donald E. Lee Sr. of Norfolk, three grandchildren, and five 
great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Greater Metropolitan 
A.M.E. Zion Church by the Rev. Jackson A. Browne. Burial with military honors 
will be held in Calvary Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home has charge.
