The Reidsville Times Reidsville, North Carolina Friday, July 6, 1888

James W. Lee, a prominent citizen and cotton merchant of Norfolk, committed s
suicide by shooting himself through the head with a pistol while sitting on a c
chair in his office. No one was present at the time the act was done. His body w
was found lying on the floor by clerks passing through the office. No cause is a
assigned. He leaves a wife and several children, and was about forty years of a
age.
