Antoinette Meixel Leidel, 84, died on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002. Born in Salisbury, 
N.C., to the late Charles and Stephanie Meixel, she was the widow of Robert 
Leidel.

She is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie Myers of Maryland and Helen Sumner of 
Chesapeake; two foster daughters, Roberta Denny and Mary Heinen of California; one 
brother, Walter J. Meixel of Virginia Beach; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-
grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A wake will be held in Altmeyer Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of 
Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Prince of Peace Catholic 
Church, Chesapeake. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease at 4560 Princess 
Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
