Norfolk - Mrs. Marie K. Leigh of 906 Wood street died Sunday, April 16, after a 
short illness.  She was the widow of the late Isaac F. Leigh and a daughter of 
the late Robert and Mrs. Florence Kindred.

She was a native of Norfolk and received her early education in the Norfolk 
Public Schools.

Mrs. Leigh was a graduate of Hampton Institute and taught in the Norfolk Public 
Schools from which she retired in 1952.

Later Mrs. Leigh was employed with the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing 
Authority from which she retired in 1963.

She is survived by a son, Brentwood C. Leigh;  two sisters, Mrs. Vista Johnson, 
Mrs. Viola Griffin;  and four nieces and five nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday 1:30 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home with the 
Rev. Jackson Brown, pastor of Greater Metropolitan AMEZ Church, conducting the 
services.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
