Virginian-Pilot  December 17 & 18, 1940
James Francis Lester, son of the late John and Mrs. Rose Reilly Lester, a native 
and lifelong resident of this section, died at a local hospital last night. He is 
survived by two sisters, Mrs. M. J. Lyons, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Charles Sullivan, 
Portsmouth, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced 
later.

James Francis Lester - The body of Mr. Lester, whose death occurred Monday night, 
will be taken from the residence of his sister, Mrs. M. J. Lyons, 116 West 
Sixteenth street, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, for funeral services this 
morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
