Norfolk - Funeral rites were conducted Tuesday in Hale Funeral Chapel by the
Rev. J. L. Kearney for John R. Lester Jr. of 1408 W. 46th street. Interment
followed in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Lester died Dec. 2 in a hospital.

A native of Asheville, NC, he was the husband of Mrs. Daisy B. Lester and a son
of the late John R. Lester Sr. and Mrs. Emma Lester. He was a self-employed
plumber and a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church, Asheville.

Besides his widow, surviving are a foster son, Allen Lee Hodges of the Army at
Ft. Bragg, NC, and a sister, Miss Lula Mae Lester of Augusta, GA.
