Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, October 20, 1992 
Vivian Catherine Boykin Lewis, 81, of the 100 block of Suburban Parkway, died
Oct. 18, 1992, in a hospital.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Joseph Lewis. She was a
member of First Baptist Church Bute Street and United Order of Tents 6.

Survivors include an adopted daughter, Ester Simmons of Norfolk; a son, Anthony
B. Lewis; a sister, Mary B. Coleman; three brothers, the Rev. Earl Boykin of
Chesapeake and Melvin Boykin and Samuel Boykin, both of Norfolk; and five
grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church
Bute Street by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Family and friends will assemble at 12:30 p.m. at 713 Maltby Ave. for the
procession. Twilight Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
