Virginian-Pilot  October 23, 1947
Jacob Lex, 75, husband of Mrs. Sophie Benz Lex and son of the late Anthony and 
Mrs. Magdelene Lex, a native of Germany and a resident of Norfolk for 65 years, 
died yesterday at 3:05 p.m. at the residence, 2523 Church Street.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gardner Savedge, of 
Norfolk; three sons, George J. Lex, of Newport News; Joseph A. Lex and John W. 
Lex, of Norfolk, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. 
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the 
residence tonight at 7:30 o’clock.
