A coat was thrown over the child and the flames smothered, but such serious burns had been received about the body that death occurred about 3 o’clock in the afternoon. The funeral of Mary Lex, the six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lex, who died Friday as a result of burns, was held yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the residence, 2523 Church street, and was conducted by Father Joseph Rooney. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery, the pallbearers being Winfred Morrisette, Frank Baxter, Doris Capps and John Austin.
