Katherine "Kay" Lawrence Lille, 72, of the 4100 block of Silverwood Blvd., 
Chesapeake, died March 16, 2004, in a Norfolk hospital. Mrs. Lille was a native 
and lifelong resident of Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Herbert Duke and 
Kathryn Hinkleman Lawrence.

Mrs. Lille retired from AT&T as a telephone operator after 18 years service. She 
was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was active in its Catholic 
Workers Food Ministry. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and was a 
graduate of Granby High School.

Survivors include a daughter, Kitty Katz and her husband Barry of Chesapeake; two 
sons, Michael E. Lille of Lakewood, Colo., and David L. Lille of Charlottesville, 
Va. She was Nana-Kay to her loving grandchildren, Leah and Erin Katz; and missed 
by a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Christ the King 
Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Rafferty officiating. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church Friday 
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 281 
Independence Blvd., Pembroke No. 1, Suite 43, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, the 
Building Fund of Christ the King Catholic Church or one's local animal shelter. 
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
