Virginian-Pilot June 17, 1980
Heber Byard Lilley, 61, of 1116 Windsor Road, died Monday in a Virginia Beach 
hospital. A native of Bath, N.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Ethel Rumfelt 
Lilley.
He was retired from United Enterprises Co. and was an Air Force veteran of World 
War II.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sharon L. Arseneau of Virginia Beach; 
three sons, Gregory Byard Lilley of Santa Ana, Calif., Vincent Austin Lilley of 
Richmond, and Ronald Anthony Lilley of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Clayton 
Overgaard of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. William T. Smithwick of Belle Haven, 
N.C.; three brothers, Cecil Lilley and William H. Lilley of Bass, N.C., and John 
Lilley of Washington, N.C.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Laskin Road, by the Rev. Billy Harrell Smithwick. Burial will be in 
St. Mary’s Cemetery.
