Norfolk Virginian March 13, 1885

Miss Bettie L. Lindsey, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Lindsey, died at 
her father's residence yesterday. Her funeral will take place this afternoon at 
3:30 o'clock from the Chestnut Street M.E. Church, in Berkley.

LINDSEY - On Thursday, March 12th, BETTIE L., eldest daughter of E.C. and M.E. 
Lindsey.
The funeral will take place from the Chestnut Street M.E. Church, Berkley, THIS 
AFTERNOON at 3:30 o'clock.

 Miss Bettie L. Lindsey - The funeral of this young lady took place at the 
Chestnut Street M.E. Church Friday afternoon, in the presence of a large 
congregation, the pastor, Rev. H.M. Hope, officiating. She has fallen an early 
victim to consumption and although her sickness was protracted, she bore it with 
Christian fortitude without a murmur, conscious that her life was fast ebbing . 
She died as she had lived, a consistent Christian, and no tribute can equal 
this.
