Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 10, 1928

William C. Lindsey, aged 54, died last night at 10:20 o'clock at his home, 
30 Rodgers Street, after an illness of more than a year.  He was agent for 
the Norfolk & Western Railway at South Norfolk for 25 years, an active 
member of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, Oakdale Lodge No. 70, I.O.O.F. 
and of Tidewater Council No. 30, Jr. Q.U.A.M.  He was one of the best known 
men in South Norfolk and was highly esteemed.
He was a native of Sylvatus, Va., a son of Charles W. and the late Mrs. 
Louise Quesenberry Lindsey and in addition to his father, is survived by his 
wife, Mrs. Blanche Norton Lindsey; one son, Raymond C. Lindsey; three 
sisters, Mrs. Hobbs Farris, Mrs. Frank Farris, Mecca, Va. and Mrs. Walter 
Martin, Roanoke and three brothers, C.G. and C.C. Lindsey, Roanoke and F.C. 
Lindsey, Dublin, Va.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

William C. Lindsey - Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey, who died Friday night 
at his residence, 30 Rodgers Street ,South Norfolk, will be conducted at the 
residence this afternoon at 1 o'clock.  The Rev. L.D. Stables, pastor of 
Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, will officiate.  Oakdale Lodge No. 70, 
I.O.O.F., of which the deceased was a member, has called its members to 
attend the services in a body.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
