Lindsay at his home in Berkley, Thursday night, marks the last period in the life of a man who has been very active in the advancement of Norfolk. Colonel Lindsay was in the real estate business, and with an unusual activity, assisted by Mr. A. Jeffers, had flooded the North and West with circulars and newspapers advertising this section. He had passed his 64th year when his useful life was brought to a close. He was a gallant Confederate soldier, and before the war was a true type of the Virginia gentleman of ante bellum days. But like many others his return from the long struggle witnessed only the fragments of a fortune. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss.
