Link, 260 W. 130th street, New York, died Sunday, Aug. 25 in a New York hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Littleton, NC and daughter of the late Nathan and Ellis Garland. She had lived in New York for more than 15 years. She was also a former Norfolk resident and funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 30 at Bank Street Baptist Church with the Rev. W. H. Butts officiating. Surviving are her husband, Arch Link, New York; daughter, Mrs. Maurice Mack; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Pretlow’s Funeral Home in charge. Out of towners attending the funeral were Mrs. Virginia Stewart, Brooklyn; Joseph C. Garland, New York; Moses Garland, Montclair, NJ; Mrs. Lois F. Campbell of New York; Mrs. Carol Belton and James Faulkner of Baltimore, MD; Oswald Mack, Mrs. Shirley Herndon, Mrs. Nancy Bell, all of Brooklyn.
