Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, April 13, 2004 
Vanessa Lavet Hayes Little, "Faye," 43, of the 400 block of W. 31st St., passed
suddenly and unexpectedly April 9, 2004. She was a native of Norfolk, born to
the late Rufus and Annie Pearl Adams Hayes. She was the wife of Jessie W.
Little. She was a member of New Mount Zion AME Church, Norfolk.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jessie W. Little, of the home; two
daughters, Nakeesha Little and Trekita Little; six sisters, Elaine Hudgins,
Janice King, Cheryl Watson (Roscoe), Loretta Riddick (Carlton), Sandra Snead
(Ali) and Martha Parker (Kelvin); four brothers, Stanley Hayes (Lois), Michael
Hayes, Kenneth Hayes and Troy Hayes; five grandchildren, Delveon Little, Devon
Little, Dynique Moore, Daryl Smith Jr. and Diani Moore; and a host of other
relatives and friends, including a special friend, Iridell Peterson. She was
also predeceased by brothers, Rufus Hayes Jr., Jesse Akbar, Lester Hayes and
sisters, Angerine Drumgold and Paula Hayes.

A funeral will be held Thursday at noon in Riddick Funeral Service Chapel with
the Rev. Joel Tomlin officiating. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at
the funeral home. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive
friends at 2959 Verdun Ave., Norfolk. wwwriddickfuneralsvc.com.
