Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, December 12, 1990 
John Henry Lofton, of the 1800 block of Canton Ave., a retired truck driver,
died Dec. 7, 1990, in a hospital.

Mr. Lofton, a native of Goldsboro, N.C., had retired from the Norfolk Naval
Shipyard after 31 years. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and served
on the deacon board. He was a member of Greater Eureka Lodge 5, I.B.P.O.E.W.,
and Norfolk New Light Masonic Lodge 196.

Survivors include his wife, Helen P. Lofton.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Jerusalem Baptist Church by
the Rev. T.M. Venable. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the
family at the residence. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Hale
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
