Norfolk Journal and Guide, Jan. 16, 1960
Mrs. Blanche London of 1829 Church street died Jan. 9 in Philadelphia after a
long illness.  Funeral services will be held at Hale Funeral Home on Saturday,
Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. London, native of Portsmouth, had lived in Norfolk 40 years prior to taking
up residence in Philadelphia.

She was a member of Evening Star Lodge 4 of Norfolk and Garrett’s Community
Church where she was an usher.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Sinceriar Avant and Mrs. Karu P. Green, both
of Lawrenceville and Mrs. Laura T. Manning of Norfolk;  and two brothers, Sanpee
Powell of Pittsburgh,PA. and Samuel Powell of North Philadelphia.
