Deceased, who had reached the advanced age of 86 years was also the father of Mr. James W. Long of this city. Notice of the funeral will be given later. ************************************************************************ LONG - At the residence of his son, Daniel Long, No. 19 Shields Street, Friday, July 22d, at 12:20 a.m., MAURICE LONG, aged 86 years. Funeral will take place at the above residence at 10 a.m. TODAY. Norfolk Landmark July 23, 1898 ************************************************************************* The funeral of the venerable Mr. Maurice Long took place yesterday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was largely attended. Requiem mass was conducted by the Rev. Father Frioli while the Rev. Fathers Wilson, Riley and Hanrahan were also present. The interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery and the following were the pallbearers: Messrs. Martin Cashin, James O’Rourke, Patrick Hart, Peter Burns, Thomas Murray, M. McKevjtt, John Coleman and James McDermin.
