Virginian Pilot March 1, 1972

Miss Helen Louise Long, 72, of 1240 Westover Ave. died Tuesday in a hospital 
after a long illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, a daughter of James W. and Mrs. Mary 
Keville Long.
She was a former purchasing agent for Virginia Electric & Power Co . and Norfolk 
Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 
Surviving are a brother, Raymond E. Long of Virginia Beach and three sisters, 
Miss Anna K. Long and Mrs. C.Z. Christopher of Belmont, Mass. and Mrs. Mary L. 
Streeter of Portsmouth, N.H.
 The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for a funeral service Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in 
Saint Mary's Cemetery.
The family has asked that flowers be omitted and contributions be sent to Cancer 
Fund.

LONG, MISS HELEN LOUISE – In a Virginia Beach hospital, Tuesday, MISS HELEN 
LOUISE LONG, daughter of the late James W. and Mrs. Mary Kevill Long, in the 
73rd year of her age. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a requiem mass to be 
celebrated Thursday at 10 o’clock. Burial, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Please omit 
flowers and make contributions to American Cancer Society.
