Virginian-Pilot  July 23, 1898
The funeral of the venerable Mr. Maurice Long took place this morning
at 10 o’clock from the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was largely attended.
Requiem mass was conducted by Rev. Father Frioli and Rev. Fathers Wilson, Riley 
and Hanrahan were also present. There was a large floral display. The interment 
was in St. Mary’s Cemetery and the following were the  pallbearers: Messrs. Martin 
Cashin, James O’Rourke,  Patrick Hart, Peter Burns, Thomas Murry, M. McKevjtt, 
John Coleman and James McDermin.
