CHESAPEAKE - Mrs. Candida Resta LoPorto, 101, of 525 Great Bridge Blvd., the 
widow of Frank LoPorto, died Friday at 10:45 a.m. in Chesapeake General 
Hospital.
She was born in Eari, Italy, and lived in this area 71 years.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Roma Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anna Virginia Besso of Chesapeake; a brother, 
Robert Resta of Albuquerque, N.M.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-
grandchildren. 1
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, where 
the Rosary will be recited Sunday at 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. 
Matthew’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Timothy Drake. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk.
