The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, January 12, 1978

NORFOLK - Vernon R. Love of 2740 Pioneer Ave., the husband of Mrs. Lois M. Love 
and a Norfolk native, died Wednesday in a Virginia Beach hospital.

He was a son of Mrs. Carrie E. Love. He worked at Norfolk Naval Supply Center 
and retired for 1 1/2 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a 
Baptist.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Vernetta Gainer of Chesapeake and 
Miss Cheryl A. Love of Bowie, Md.; three sons, Rudolph Love, Kenneth Love, and 
Oliver Love, four sisters, Mrs. Shirley Walker, Miss Marie Love, Mrs. Joan 
Westbrook, and Mrs. Jean Spruill, and a brother, William Love, all of Norfolk; 
and five grnadchildren.

A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Hale Funeral Home Chapel, Burial, 
with full military honors, will be in Calvary Cemetery.
