NORFOLK - Eugene James Love, 61, of 1433 Gabriel Drive, retired sergeant with 
Elizabeth River Tunnel Commission with 12 years of service, died Monday in a 
hospital.
A native of Philadelphia, he served in the Navy for 22 years and retired. He was 
the husband of the late Mrs. Julia V. Love.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Miss Victoria Love and Miss Teresa Love of 
Norfolk, Mrs. Patricia Korba of Virginia Beach, and Miss Christine Love of 
Houston, two sons, Michael Love of Norfolk and Christopher Love of Palo Alto, 
Calif., four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Brockwell, Mrs. Mancy McGowen, Mrs. Helen 
McGhee, and Mrs. Marie Robb of Philadelphia, two brothers, James Love of 
Philadelphia and Robert Love of New Jersey; and three grandchildren.
A Wake service will be held tonight at 7 in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A 
funeral Mass will be celebrated in the funeral apartments Thursday at 10 a.m. by 
the Rev. Fr. J. Michael Breslin. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
