Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 9, 1917

Miss Martha Anne Lowe, aged 72 years, died yesterday morning at 6:30 o'clock 
at the residence of her nephew, W.T. Lowe.  Miss Lowe was a native of North 
Carolina, but had been living in this section three years.  She is survived by 
a brother, J.T. Lowe, of South Norfolk.  The funeral will be conducted at the 
graveside in Magnolia Cemetery this afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. W.M. Black, 
pastor of the South Norfolk Baptist Church.
