Entered into rest at the residence, No. 427 North Street, Monday, January 15, 1917, at 10 o'clock p.m., JOHN Z. LOWE, in the 79th year of his age. Notice of funeral later. ************************************************************************ The funeral service of John Z. Lowe, who died at 10 o'clock last Monday night in the residence, 427 North Street, will take place at 3 o'clock this afternoon in Trinity Protestant Episcopal Church. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. Mr. Lowe has been in ill health for some time and had been confined to the residence of his son-in-law, Lee Wood Walker. Following an attack of pneumonia on Saturday night he sank rapidly. For many years Mr. Lowe was identified with the business life of Norfolk, where he was widely acquainted. He had been a resident of Portsmouth for the last 11 years. Mr. Lowe was a veteran of the civil war. He was 77 years old and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lee Wood Walker, of Portsmouth; John Z. Lowe Jr., collector of internal revenue of New York City; Jenkins Lowe and Miss Ella Lowe.
