Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 12, 2009

ASHLAND, Ky. - Frank Holtzman Lowell, 85, died Jan. 10, 2009, in Hospice 
Care Center after an extended illness. Born Oct. 11, 1923, in Norfolk, he 
was the son of the late Frederick Dentzel and Neal Holtzman Lowell. Mr. 
Lowell was a retired planner and estimator at the Naval Air Station in 
Norfolk with 35 years service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World World II 
and of the Episcopalian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ross Lowell of Ashland; daughter, Lenetia 
N. Gerken and husband Henry of Edwards, Colo.; brothers-in-law, Merrill Ross 
and wife Alyce, Louise Kahne, both of Ashland and Billy McCleod of 
Springfield, Va.; grandchildren, Catherine Ann and Elizabeth Caroline Gerken 
of Edwards; and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation or services. Burial will be in Norfolk at
