ELIZA LOWRY DIED SUDDENLY YESTERDAY Mrs. Eliza Lowry, one of the best known residents of this side of the river, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her residence, No. 7 Clifton street. While she had been unwell for several days her condition was not regarded as alarming. She ate her meals yesterday, including a hearty dinner. Heart trouble is the assigned cause. She was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., but had been residing here for the past sixteen years. She was a daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. Doxie Lee and widow of W.C. Lowry. She is survived by two sons, W.F. White, superintendent of the Surry Lumber Company's plant and Ernest L. White, cigar manufacturer. She was a member of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. The funeral will be conducted from the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and Rev. W.A. Smith, pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church will officiate.
