CHESAPEAKE - Mrs. Gladys R. Lowther, 54, of Country Road died Monday in a 
Norfolk hospital after an illness of two weeks.

A native of Edenton, N.C., she was a daughter of dan and Mrs. Sealy Rayner.

Surviving are a son, James Owens, a daughter, Mrs. Katherine McPherson, and a 
foster daughter, Mrs. Mary Harris, all of Norfolk; a sister, Miss Luara Rayner 
of Philadelphia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hale Funeral Home. Burial 
will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The family will be at 1271 Reservoir Ave.
