NORFOLK - Nellie Armstrong Luke of 834 A Ave., a native of Parksburg, N.C., and 
the widow of Edmund J. Luke, died Sunday in a hospital.

Mrs. Luke had retired from a job at Peoples Drug Store after 29 years. She was a 
member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, N.C.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Lattimore of Philadelphia; a son, 
Anderson J. Luke of Norfolk; a brother, Houston Grant Pendergrass of Elizabeth 
City, N.C.; four sister, Eva A. Bethea, Charity a. Johnson and Odessa A. 
Pendergrass of Elizabeth City, and Annie A. Merriwether of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 10 
grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Community Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
