She was born on September 29, 1942, to Norberto and Marcelina Calampiano in Barangay San Ignacio, San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines. Myrna graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1965. In 1967, she married her husband, Nestor Agahan Lunasin. A devoted military spouse and mother, Myrna lived in New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Ohio, in addition to Virginia. She had a long career as a registered nurse, caring for a multitude of patients in various hospitals and nursing homes. Myrna found great joy in doting on her three grandchildren, creating delicious dishes for her family, and tending to her collection of plants. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person, a generous spirit, and a woman of genuine faith. In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Myrna was predeceased by her brother, Noli Calampiano; her sister, Adora Castillo; her daughter, Michelle Lunasin; and her loving husband of 54 years, Nestor. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Nestor Lunasin, Jr. and Michael Lunasin (and his wife, Elann); her granddaughter, Mikaella Lunasin; her grandsons, Maeson Lunasin and Elijah Lunasin; and her brothers, Enrico Calampiano (and his wife, Emma), Norberto Calampiano Jr., Rizal Calampiano (and his wife, Ruby); and Daniel Avanzado Jr. (and his wife, Hannah). She also has numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and other extended family members who live in the United States, the Philippines, and throughout the world. The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home - Southside Chapel, located at 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA, on Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 6 to 9 pm. Each night of visitation will begin with a novena prayer. On Wednesday, a wake service will be held after the novena. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 12:30 pm. at St. Pius X Catholic Church located at 7800 Halprin Drive in Norfolk, VA.
