Virginian-Pilot  March 5, 1930
Michael Lutfy, aged 62, died yesterday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the residence, 
309 East Freemason street. He was a native of Syria and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for the past 23 years. Surviving him are four daughters, one living in 
Paterson, N.J., and Mrs. N. Noona, Mrs. H. Betor and Mrs. L. B. Joynes, of 
Norfolk; two sons, Charles Lutfy, of New York City, and John Lutfy, of Norfolk, 
and 16 grandchildren. The body will be taken from the residence of his son-in-law, 
L. B. Joynes, 2108 Kimball terrace, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, for funeral 
services tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
