Mr. Bryant L. Lynch, well known to his friends as Captain Lynch, and who has charge of the billiard and pool tables in the Purcell House, was discovered at the point of death in his room over the United Ocean Club yesterday morning. Captain Lynch retired to his room about 1 o'clock Wednesday night and it is thought turned on the gas after turning it out, for when his room was broken open at 8 o'clock yesterday morning, after a servant had repeatedly knocked and received no answer, it was discovered full of gas and Captain Lynch unconscious. Drs. Hunter and Robinson were summoned and did all in their power to bring the unfortunate man to. His condition yesterday was very pitiable, he being completely asphyxiated. For a long period he was connected with the Norfolk and Western Railroad as conductor and baggage master. He was attended yesterday morning by Rev. Father Doherty and the last rites of the Catholic Church administered. At a late hour last night hopes were entertained of his recovery. **************************************************************************** LYNCH - On Friday morning, the 13th instant, at 1:40 o'clock, BRYAN LYNCH, in the 67th year of his age.
