Norfolk Virginian April 17, 1895

Mrs. Sophia W. Lyons, wife of Mr. W.H. Lyons, died at the residence of her 
husband yesterday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock, after an illness of about two 
weeks.  Mrs. Lyons was 62 years old and beloved by all who knew her.  She 
leaves besides her husband four children - one boy and three girls, her son, 
Mr. Samuel W. Lyons, being treasurer of Norfolk county and her daughters are 
Mrs. Charles Williams and Misses Bell and Willie Lyons, all of this town.  
Her funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. from Berkley Avenue Baptist 
Church.

LYONS - At the residence of her son, Mr. Samuel W. Lyons, Water Front, 
Berkley, Va., April 16th, 1895, 11:15 p.m., Mrs. SOPHIA WALKER LYONS, 
beloved wife of Mr. Wm. H. Lyons, aged 62 years.
The funeral services will take place at the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church 
TOMORROW (Thursday) AFTERNOON, at 2 o'clock.  Friends and acquaintances are 
respectfully invited to attend.
