Maben, the daughter of the late Seymour and Ella Hyman, was born on December 28, 1946 in Norfolk, VA. She departed this life peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2013. She attended public schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA. After graduation she was employed at the Naval Air Station as a machinist after serving 32 years for the Federal Government. She later furthered her education as a college graduate at ECPI, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Information Systems. She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA, as well as, a member of the Eastern Star. She will be mostly remembered for her independence, strong will, and willingness to help someone in need. She touched the lives of many with her big heart, the love of her family, especially her three brothers; and often known by her family as the "Quiet Storm". Words cannot express our grief. We know how much and how long she suffered. God knew she could not bear anymore and called her home to rest. She leaves to cherishing fondest memories are husband, Anthony Maben of Virginia Beach, Va; a daughter, Sheila McGlone of Alexandria, Va; three sons, Anthony McGlone (Sabrina) of Virginia Beach, Va; predeceased by Gregory McGlone of Virginia Beach, Va and Michael McGlone (Chrystal) of Puyallup, WA; two step-daughters, Karla Potts (Tony)of Portsmouth, Va and Tiffany Foster (Eric) of Portsmouth, Va; two step-sons, Aaron Maben (Tasha) of Richmond, Va; Anthony Maben, Jr. (Twana) of Savannah, Ga; three brothers, Gary Hyman of Sandston, Va, predeceased by Alfred Hyman (Dorothy) of Norfolk, Va and Revelle Hyman of Washington, DC; two aunts, Elizabeth Hodges of Norfolk, Va and Versaray Norman of Portsmouth, Va; an uncle, Roland Thornton of Chesapeake, Va; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
