Norfolk Journal and Guide, Oct 10,1942
Burial rites for John Henry Macklin of Hale street, who died September 30 at a 
local hospital, were held October 4 at Hale Chapel.  He was 60 years of age.  
The Rev. H. T. Myers of Mt. Olive Baptist Church delivered the eulogy.  
Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery.  Mr. Macklin was born in Prince George 
County, and had lived in Norfolk 35 years.
