The deceased was a lady of most excellent character and her life was adorned by many Christian virtues. The funeral will be held from the family residence at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. ************************************************************* Funeral of Mrs. MacLean The obsequies of this highly esteemed lady, wife of Mr. Archibald MacLean, whose death has been noted in these columns, were held from the residence, No. 27 High street, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and were largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. E.H. Rawlings of Monumental Church, Portsmouth, assisted by Rev. R. M. Chandler, of Centenary Church, Rev. J. Ernest Thacker, of the Second Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, and Rev. C.W. Pettit. The floral tributes were very handsome. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers, Messrs. W.T. Core, S.Q.Collins. Luther H. White, James Davis, H.K. Bell, Luther Sheldon and A.B. Broughton.
