Madden, who kept a liquor store in Church at Bermuda street, died at 4:15 yesterday afternoon. Mr. Madden was 39 years old. He was born and educated here. He had a large number of friends and was known as a generous and warm-hearted man. Mr. Madden was sick for only a week and, though he was subject to consumption, his death was a surprise to his acquaintances and a great shock to his wife. His wife was a Miss Annie Allen, of Baltimore. There are no children. Mr. Madden had recently moved to a residence of his own in Chapel street, near Queen, where he died. The burial will occur from St. Mary’s church on Saturday morning at 9 o’clock.
