NORFOLK - Mrs. Eileen Smothers Maddock, 63, of 636 Redgate Ave., died in a 
hospital Wednesday at 5:45 a.m. after a long illness.
She was a daughter of Thomas A. and Mrs. Mary A. Smothers, a native of Norfolk, 
and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Albert Gates of Washington and Mrs. Robert 
Crise of Danville, Ohio; three sons, Thomas S. Maddock of Bakersfield, Calif., 
Air Force S.Sgt. Joseph F. Maddock of Westover AFB, Mass., and James P. Maddock 
of Norfolk; and 18 grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in Cox Funeral Home tonight at 8.
A funeral service will be conducted in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Friday at 
9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
