Patrick Magee departed this life at his residence, 260 Holt street, at 4:40 
o’clock yesterday afternoon in the 58th year of his age. Mr. Magee had been for 
nearly half a century a resident of Norfolk, thirty years of which he was employed 
as a salesman in the dry goods house of Peter Smith, by whom he was regarded as 
one of his most competent and trusted employees. The deceased was widely known and 
universally esteemed for his many sterling traits of character and fine social 
qualities. He is survived by a widow and three daughters. He was a member of 
Pocahontas Council Royal Arcanum, and St. Mary’s Catholic church, from which his 
funeral will be held at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning.
