Maher died at St. Vincent’s Hospital Tuesday evening after an illness of two weeks of meningitis, in the thirtieth year of his age. He was a native of Norfolk and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends, who will learn with sorrow of his untimely passing. He is survived by a sister, Miss Mary E. Maher, and a brother, John F. Maher, both of Norfolk. The remains will be taken from the apartments of Funeral Director H. D. Oliver, 518-520 Freemason street, to St. Mary’s Catholic church, at 9 a.m. this morning, where requiem mass will be celebrated. The interment will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
