Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 20, 1954

Matthew J. Mahoney, Jr., 36, son of the late Matthew J. and Mrs. Pearl Gumm 
Mahoney. a native of Portsmouth and lifelong resident of this section, died at 
the residence, 737 Westover Avenue, yesterday at noon.
He is survived by three aunts, Mrs. Daniel O'Donahue, of Washington, Mrs. 
Augustus Miller, of Richmond and Sister Constantia, of St. Louis and an uncle, 
George F. Mahoney of Washington.

Matthew J. Mahoney, Jr. – The body of Mr. Mahoney, who died Friday will be taken 
from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 
funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, 
Portsmouth. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments, Monday night 
at 8 o’clock.
