Taylor-Mair of the 1200 block of Level Green Blvd. died Oct. 5, 2001, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born in Norfolk and was a social worker supervisor for the state of New Jersey. She also was a musician choir director for several churches and funeral homes in New Jersey. She was a member of Assemblies of YAH. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd J. Mair of Chesapeake; two daughters, Lisa J. Carson of Washington, D.C., and Lisa A. Williams of Virginia Beach; six sons, Ben Rivers of Nashville, Tenn., Michael Rivers of Patterson, N.J., Kenneth Rivers of Orlando, Fla., Gilbert Blacken Jr. and Robert Blacken, both of Atlanta, and Christopher Mair of Jersey City; a sister, Sylvia T. Barrett of Chesapeake; a brother, Randolph Taylor Jr. of Norfolk; 17 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two dear friends, Mildred White and Ruth Kennedy; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Assemblies of YAH at Salem Baptist Church by Elder Louis Acersion. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. The remains will be ready for viewing from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. for the procession.
