Stanley Makarewicz, 77, Chesapeake, Va., died Friday. His wife of 54 years is the 
former Ann Marie Logan, formerly of Dickson City.

Born in Dickson City, son of the late Jan and Mary Kukula Makarewicz, he graduated 
from Dickson City High School in 1948. He had been a resident of Red Bank, N.J., 
for more than 40 years and retired from Fort Monmouth, N.J. He was an Army veteran 
and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 280 for 50 years.

Also surviving are a daughter, Marianne East and son-in-law, David East, Virginia 
Beach, Va.; two grandsons, Eric Bell, Stuttgart, Germany; and Sean Bell and wife, 
Christina Bell; and a great-granddaughter, Emilee Bell, Jacksonville, Fla.

A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated Saturday at St. Benedict's 
Chapel, Chesapeake.
