Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 6, 1947
Mrs. Mary Glanville Makinson, age 76 years, daughter of the late John and Mrs. 
Martha Dwyer Glanville, died at a local hospital Saturday night at 10:35 
o'clock.  Mrs. Makinson was a native of Baltimore and a resident of this section 
for the past 60 years, residing at 2717 Cromwell Road at the tine of her death.  
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. P.L. Longworth, Mrs. H.B. Jordan and 
Mrs. A.W. Calcott, all of Norfolk; three sons, A.R. and J.D. Makinson, both of 
Norfolk and Bruce G. Makinson, of Beverley Hills, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; eight 
great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters.  Services will be held at 
the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, 
with the Rev. John F. Ward, rector of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, of 
which Mrs. Makinson was a member, officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
