Virginian-Pilot February 19, 1910


Mrs. Ellen T. Mance, wife of F.W. Mance, who had been under treatment at the 
Protestant hospital for two weeks for pneumonia, died at that institution at 
8:40 o'clock yesterday morning. The deceased was a native of Norfolk and was the 
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Daugherty. She had been a resident of 
Norfolk her entire life and at the time of her demise she was in the 33d year of 
her age. Besides her husband, she is survived by four children. The funeral will 
be held from her late residence, 32 Front Street, at 3:30 o'clock p.m. today and 
will be conducted by Rev. Father Drake, of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

MANCE – At Norfolk Protestant Hospital, Friday, February 18, 1910, at 8:45 
o’clock a.m., ELLEN T., wife of F. W. Mance and daughter of the late Peter and 
Margaret Dougherty, in the 32nd year of her age.
Funeral services at the residence, No. 32 Front street, THIS (Saturday) 
AFTERNOON at 3:30 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend.

The funeral of Mrs. Ellen T. Mance, wife of F.W. Mance, was held from her late 
residence, 32 Front Street, Atlantic City Ward, at 3:30 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon and was conducted by Rev. Father R.A. Drake, of the Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church. The interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Following were the 
pallbearers: E.C. Fritzinger, Edward Fritzinger, D. Swinson, R.F. Mathews, J.T. 
Webb and J.W. Cherry.
