A native of Norfolk County, he was a son of the late Raleigh and Mrs. Minnie Bess Manley. He was a salesman. Surviving, besides his widow, are a son, Cecil Manley of Norfolk; ad adopted son, Vernon Lee Davis, and a daughter, Mrs. Doris Woodley, both of Chesapeake; two brothers, Raleigh Manley of Chesapeake and Frank Manley of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Butler of Washington; and seven grandchildren. Services were held in New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Fernwood Farm, by the Rev. W. L. Davis. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Chatman Funeral Home in charge.
