The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, February 2, 1978

NORFOLK - Mrs. Sarah L. Mapson of 1617 Tarrall Ave., the widow of Willie Mapson 
and a native of Leland, N.C., died Tuesday in a hospital.

She was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Emma Elliott of New York and Mrs. Mary 
belle McCoy of Leland; three sons, Willie Mapson Jr. and James Mapson of 
Norfolk, and Eugene Mapson of Philadelphia, 15 grandchildren, and 35 great-
grandchildren.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
