The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 4, 1938
Mrs. Maria Trench Marable, widow of William A. Marable and daughter of J.S.B. 
and Mrs. Isabella MacKenzie Anderson, a native of Glasgow, Scotland, and for 
the past 65 years a well known resident of Norfolk, died suddenly yesterday 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Marable resided at 511 Boissevain avenue and 
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. 
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Lewis M. Cooper, of Washington, D.C., 
and Mrs. Sandusky W. Curtis and Miss Blanche L. Marable, of Norfolk; one son 
William Ashby Marable, Jr.; four grandchildren, James G. Marable, Jr., William 
Sibley Marable, Betty Lee Curtis, and Marie Belle Curtis, and one sister, Mrs. 
Lloyd S. Groves of Norfolk.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
