The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 6, 1936
James Gwaltney Marable, aged 41, husband of Mrs. Annie Sibley Marable and son 
of Mrs. Maria T. Anderson Marable and the late William A. Marable, was found 
dead in a downtown hotel room yesterday afternoon. Mr. Marable was a native and 
lifelong resident of Norfolk. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by 
two sons, James Gwaltney Marable, Jr., and William S. Marable; three sisters, 
Mrs. Lewis Cooper, of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Sandusky Curtis and Miss 
Blanche L. Marable, both of Norfolk, and a brother, Ashby Marable. The body was 
taken to H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartmemts, 610-12 East Freemason street, 
pending funeral arrangements.
